Since the launch of the brand, Vodafone Idea has planned its largest retail expansion with opening of 300 new format Vi shops across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh circles.

The opening up of 50 new Vi Shops in Tamil Nadu is part of the retail expansion drive by the company.

New Vi shops would be set up in Usilampatti, Illupur, Nagapattinam, Palani, Thiruvallur, Arakkonam, Ariyalur and others who would be able to access quick and face to face service from Vi personnel. Through the new format, Vi intends to deepen the engagement with rural consumers, a company statement here said.

“There is still a large segment of customers in rural India, who prefer the comfort and familiarity of face-to-face service through the physical retail format. Further, rural has been driving the growth of mobile internet usage in India,” Vodafone Idea Ltd COO Abhijit Kishore said.

“To cater to this demand, we are taking a renewed approach to our rural retail strategy, through our Vi shop concept, which will enable millions of Indians to digitally connect for a better future,” he said.
